Northeast Ohio Chapter
Our Mission is to Prevent Blindness and Preserve Sight…
Prevent Blindness Ohio is celebrating 65+ years as Ohio’s leading volunteer nonprofit public health organization dedicated to preventing blindness and preserving sight.
The goal of the Vision Care Outreach Program (VCO) is to reduce the incidence of unnecessary vision loss and impairment by providing access to a donated system of comprehensive vision care services for uninsured and underinsured families in Ohio.
Children’s Vision Health Programs: Our approaches include vision screenings, classroom and community learning experiences for children and families, professional development opportunities for educators and primary care givers, technical assistance and eye health resources made available online.
Adult Vision Health Programs: We prevent blindness in Ohio’s adult population by providing services for early detection and treatment of possible vision problems through vision screening and educating people about how to keep their sight safe and healthy for a lifetime.
