LiveSpecial presented “Your Memory Matters,” an online program to educate and provide a hopeful look at today’s memory care landscape.
Dr. Jagan Pillai, director of the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and a practicing neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and Dr. Brian Appleby, a neuropsychiatrist at University Hospitals, discussed the latest and most promising treatments and research in cognitive disorders. The program covered topics including normal versus concerning memory changes, the importance of early diagnosis, and new medications.
Pillai introduced the audience to the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and discussed how to volunteer to participate in a research study. The doctors also talked about the U.S. Pointer Study, which supports the importance of lifestyle changes as we age.
“Everything mom told you to do was actually correct,” according to Appleby.
