These important services and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities wouldnrsquot be possible without the support we receive from you.

This holiday season we are thankful for our friends, partners and organizations who have helped The Wayside care for children and adults with disabilities for almost 50 years.

Our Lady of the Wayside provides residential, respite, transportation and day programming and services for 500 children and adults with developmental disabilities. Programs, services and support include:

Residential Programs provide consumers with support 24-hours-per-day/ 7-days-per-week in over 50 homes in 30 communities throughout Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE

Respite Program focuses on short-term emergency resident placement for those who experience temporary difficulties or encounter family limitations. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE

Transportation Program is available to The Waysidersquos residential and respite consumers. Additionally, individuals with disabilities can access the agencyrsquos transportation services through Cuyahoga County and Lorain County Boards of Developmental Disabilities. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE

The Pathways Program offers adult day services for individuals with developmental disabilties with a focus on extending the range of community integration for consumers through a variety of activities. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE

Health and Nursing Program provides trained professional care for the agencyrsquos 500 consumers. Specialized nursing services, innovative therapies and daily health strategies are tailored for the optimum health and well-being of the consumers we serve.

Occupational, speech and physical therapies are part of the services available in some residential settings. Behavior modification support is available for residential and respite consumers.

Social services – including assistance with benefits and/or finances – are available for all residential and respite consumers.

Computer Education Program is available to all residential and respite consumers and teach basic computer skills that enable communication with peers and family and internet tools necessary to pursue topics of interest. Adaptive equipment is provided for those with physical disabilities.

Music therapy enables The Waysidersquos consumers to work on verbal and non-verbal communication through therapy and participation in the Sing and Sign Choir which performs several times a year.

Equestrian therapy is accessed through a contract with Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center and provides horse-related activities designed for people with physical, emotional and social disabilities.

Recreation programs are available to all consumers and include a variety of activities including (but not limited to) bowling, social groups, Wayside dances, Craft Club and various outings.

Wheelchair maintenance is available to all residential and respite consumers who utilize them. Community employment through private employers or workshops is available to our consumers.

Spiritual development is available to all residential and respite consumers.
