Believe in Dreams
Believe in Dreamstrade is a non-profit organization that was created to help aid in fulfilling dreams for children who have suffered from hardship. It is to provide hope and relief to kids who have been disadvantaged economically or have experienced tragedy, or any type of non-medical hardship. Basically it is similar to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, except while Make-a-Wish focuses exclusively on children who suffer from severe medical conditions, Believe in Dreamstrade is created to help address children who have non-medical disadvantages.
Believe in Dreamstrade helps fulfill children’s dreams that they may have otherwise not been able to do. Dreams such as sending them to an event (i.e. sporting or concert), a special destination or trip, meeting their favorite celebrity, or training and education on something they have always desired. The Foundation focuses on children under the age of 18 who have suffered a personal (or family) trauma, or a financial/ personal hardship (that does not involve the child’s own medical condition). For example, these traumas and hardships can include extreme poverty, the death or serious illness of a parent, loss of housing, military deployment of a parent, divorce, or other life-changing event.
Criteria for child to be a candidate:
Child is 18 years or under.
Child is disadvantaged either economically or has experienced some type of hardship or tragedy.
The child is NOT suffering from a serious medical condition themself, but the hardship/tragedy CAN be a result of someone in their family having suffered or is currently suffering from a medical condition (i.e. parent or sibling).
