For over 30 years, we have provided summer programming to youth who present with social and emotional needs. The Camp Challenge Intensive Experiential Group Counseling Program is a five week therapeutic program designed to use behavior modification and cognitive behavioral therapy in group settings to improve behaviors. The Camp Challenge program is designed for youth between the ages of six and twelve. The focus is on youth that require a more intensive level of behavioral health services, meet medically necessitated standards, and have functioning problems that are moderate to severe. The program is essentially divided into three components a Therapeutic Social-Recreation component, Counseling and Behavioral Intervention component, and a Parent component. Youth are referred by their primary therapist or Community Support Worker at Alta Behavioral Healthcare.
