Community Action Against Addiction

Community Action Against Addiction, Inc. (CAAA), a community-based 501 C (3), has been in operation since 1971. The agency was established as a community response to the growing problem of opiate addiction in Cuyahoga County, Cleveland Ohio and surrounding communities. It is one of the oldest medically
assisted recovery, outpatient/opioid treatment programs in Cuyahoga County. During the past 40 years CAAA has been active in empowering the community to fight addiction.

The staff consists of physicians, licensed (independent) social workers, certified chemical dependency counselors, psychologists, registered nurses, HIV counselors and prevention specialists.

We take pride in our experience and in our commitment to our clients and the community. CAAA employees work as a team to integrate all services into a total care plan that provides a consistent and continuous service
delivery vehicle for all clients.

Services:
CAAA provides a continuum of outpatient services ranging from prevention/outreach for youth and adults serving those recovering and maintaining abstinence. The program offers comprehensive and coordinated services that address many needs: stressors family relations interpersonal relationships mental health
life span addictions (alcohol or other drugs, gambling, and tobacco) eating and sexual disorders and the needs of victims of abuse, domestic violence, or other trauma.

Services include (but are not limited to): individual, group, marriage and family counseling parenting anger management methadone anonymous grief and bereavement spirituality self-esteem HEP-C health care management pregnant services and services for new moms and education on recovery and
wellness.

Rehabilitation and medical support services are provided to persons addicted to opioid drugs. In addition to reducing or eliminating the use of illicit drugs, CAAA also works to impact on criminal activity, the spread of infectious disease, and employability and other life enhancing qualities. Human immunodeficiency
virus (HIV) prevention and education, HIV testing and pre/post testing and counseling to intravenous drug use (IVDU) and other high risk populations is provided for those wanting to enroll in treatment services and to all who are engaged in ongoing treatment.
