Down Syndrome Association of the Valley

ABOUT US

Down Syndrome Association of the Valley (DSAV) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which serves individuals with Down syndrome throughout eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Established in 2007, DSAV is committed to providing support, resources, advocacy, education and opportunity to individuals with Down syndrome, their families and our communities throughout the region.

In June 2022, DSAV opened the Regional Down Syndrome Center for Success of Eastern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania.  Located in Boardman, OH, the 2500 sq. ft. center will  include a large therapeutic play area for babies and toddlers, a full kitchen for cooking, nutrition and life skills classes, as well as private tutor rooms, therapy/fitness area, center stage for working on communication skills and a creative arts area.

To us, there is no greater joy than seeing all individuals accepted and included in the same activities as their peers. At DSAV, we provide enriching experiences, programs and grants to our members, which foster that personal growth and pride in accomplishment. Membership is free and open to individuals with Down syndrome, their families, educators, healthcare professionals and anyone interested in making a difference in the lives of those with Down syndrome.

The Down syndrome Association of the Valley is committed to creating an environment that is diverse, inclusive, and equitable where all staff, families, volunteers and board members are treated with respect and dignity without reference to race, color, religion, gender, abilities, age, veteran status, socioeconomic status, national origin,  sexual orientation or identification
