H. Gerry Taylor, Ph.D.

H. Gerry Taylor, PhD, ABPP, is a principal investigator in the Biobehavioral Health Center at the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospitals and a member of the faculty in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University. His research has focuses on neurodevelopment outcomes of early brain-related conditions, including preterm birth and traumatic brain injury. Findings from his studies have enhanced understanding of the cognitive, behavior, and family consequences of these conditions, as well as the medical and environmental factors that predict how well the children will do with advancing age. More generally, his research aims to inform more effective approaches to identification and treatment of learning and behavior problems in children who have or are at risk for early brain insults. He has also participated in research on genetic influences on speech-language disorders in children and in clinical trials of behavioral interventions to reduce problems in family and child functioning following pediatric brain injury and of adenotonsillectomy to improve neurobehavioral outcomes of childhood sleep disorders.
