Rising Star opened its doors serving children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities in the Summer of 2006. With an enrollment of 4 students and a staff of 4 employees, Rising Star dedicated itself to build awareness of what Conductive Education could do to change the trajectory of the lives of children with such disabilities. Over the past decade Rising Star has served children from all over NE Ohio and beyond spanning the counties of Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Portage, Ashtabula, Franklin, Mahoning, Wayne and Medina. Parents travel to bring their children because Rising Star teaches the children and the families how to live in the world despite the many challenges that are faced due to living with physical disabilities.
