Biographical Sketch
Roman Dale, MD, is Director of Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Services at Cleveland Clinic, located in Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He was appointed in 2006 subsequent to serving as the Section Chief of Psychiatry in the Department of Medicine at Fairview Hospital, in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Dale is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Surgeons of Canada [F.R.C.P.(C)]. His specialty interests include geropsychiatry, neuropsychiatry, and the treatment of tardive dyskinesia.
Dr. Dale received his medical degree from the University of Toronto School of Medicine in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings throughout his psychiatric residency, including Welborn Baptist Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, and Mississauga Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. In 1995, he moved to the United States and began practicing psychiatric medicine at Fairview Hospital and Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Dale has been teaching since 2006 at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry, where he received the “Teacher of the Year” award during the 2006-2007 academic year. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Psychiatric Neuroscience and he frequently lectures during medical grand rounds and other academic events.
Dr. Dale has been a keynote speaker at numerous psychiatric meetings and grand rounds events. He provides consultations in inpatient and outpatient settings at Cleveland Clinic and participates in various psychiatric committees at Fairview Hospital and Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
